Steel Fabricator By Terry Burgess

I'm a steel fabricator based in Southport, Merseyside and have been using chop saws/cut-off saws for the last 14 years. In that time I've probably gone through approximately eighteen saws by several different manufacturers such as Makita, Bosch, Ryobi, Dewalt and a couple of cheap brand saws. The Makita, Ryobi and Bosch all in the last 12 months! All these saws mentioned are over-rated, over- priced and manufactured to poor standards, some of these companies state the saws are for industrial use… yeah right! The last saw I purchased was the latest Bosch, it lasted 3weeks!

I rang Screwfix up (where I buy a lot of my tools from and it is where I purchased my last 3 saws from, including the overrated Bosch c**p). I asked the operator to ask their technical department why these saws weren’t lasting very long; they had no idea, but they did say I might be putting a bit too much pressure on whilst cutting - this saw would have had trouble cutting through cardboard! The operator asked me if I would like to exchange for another cut-off saw, so I opted for your 355mm cut-off saw; the RAGE2, which is also in the Screwfix catalogue.

The saw was delivered. Oh yes! A properly manufactured quality piece of kit. I've had it 9 days now and all ready the results speak for themselves. There's no harmful dust, it cuts square, it cuts at least 3 times faster and it doesn’t struggle through any of the steels I've been cutting. 12mm x 12mm square bar up to 30 mm, 30mm square bar, box section from 20mm x 20mm up to 100mm x 100mm - this machine eats this stuff for breakfast without breaking into a sweat, its got to be one of the best bigger hand tools on the market today and trust me I’ve tried most of them.

All I'd like to say is its about time some one came along had the guts to produce something of this quality without cutting costs on the parts, like some of the big manufacturers out there. Plus it’s at a fair price.

I can't think of a well known manufacturer out there that has got a product of the same type that comes anywhere near this machine. Fantastic product. I know a lot of people in engineering who are always looking for these types of machines and I’m going to pass your details onto them. I highly recommend this machine and look forward to buying more of your machines in the near future. Thanks.
