Farmhouse Renovation By Robert McLellan
Hi there, I bought a RAGE3 TCT Multipurpose Sliding Mitre Saw last year in B & Q, Dundee after seeing the promo video. I am a rabid DIY-er and was impressed with the promise of being able to cut steel, aluminium and wood with the same saw and the same blade.
As things happen the saw did not get used to its full potential. To cut a long and boring tale short we have now bought an old farmhouse in Brittany and have moved out here (cats and all) and are in the process of 'modernising'.
The first thing we put in was a wood burning stove, as wood is the preferred fuel in this part of France. We had about 60 square metres of 30 mm thick wood flooring all at the least contaminated with woodworm or other flying livestock. This provided us with a ready source of fuel.
The only problem was that the wood had been used for several decades as flooring in barns and an old house, consequently there were hundreds of nails and bits of granite chips embedded. That ruled out the chain saw…
The RAGE3 took it all this in it’s stride, cutting up to three planks thick at once; making light work of the pile in the photo. So as I sit typing this I have RAGE3 to thank for the heat!
Of course the saw has not only been used for cutting firewood but has already helped me make a set of garage doors, shuttering for concrete and other jobs too numerous to mention. I have every confidence that when my cycle tours business and Gite complex is complete the saw will still have a long life ahead of it.
Thanks again for a great product.
Bon Courage
