Jewellery & Trinket Boxes Mike Girouard
My area of interest is making wooden jewellery and trinket boxes. My mitre saw wasn't providing the precision I needed for fine work on hard and soft wood stock which can sometimes be only 1/4" thick.
When I first saw the RAGE3 255mm Multipurpose Sliding Mitre Saw advertised, I thought it might be useful to have a saw that would address materials other than wood. But I was dubious, would that kind of blade provide the finesse and cleanliness of cut that I needed?
Since I would be able to return it if it proved inadequate, I took a chance. Now you would have to tear it out of my arms to get it back!
The blade and support mechanism allow for a precision of cut which is astonishing for a machine that size. The laser setup is the first one I've ever seen that I come close to trusting. And the cut is so even and clean that even mitre joints require almost no sanding prior to glue-up.
In short, the saw is capable of considerable delicacy as well as being a monster against steel pipes!
