23.08.2008    Murphy vying for more success.

World snooker is ready for the next chapter, as the 08/09 season is almost ready to kick off. Last season saw the ‘Rocket’ Ronnie O’Sullivan finish at the top of the rankings after a gripping tussle with Stephen Maguire and Evolution’s very own Shaun Murphy for World Snooker supremacy.

This time around Murphy the ‘Magician’ is hoping to achieve his dream of becoming number one and a win in the first tournament, the Northern Ireland Trophy, would be the perfect start. Shaun managed a semi final appearance in Belfast last season, so he will be eager to improve on this.

The Northern Ireland Trophy is held in high regard by the game’s top stars due to the large crowds it draws and the top class Waterfront Hall venue. It is also a chance to wipe the slate clean amid any disappointment from the previous season.

Evolution’s Murphy kicks off his campaign with a tough match against either Marcus Campbell or popular Welshman Mark Williams. The 2005 world champion will be optimistic on his chances following a close season of careful preparation and practice.

The action runs from 24th August – 31st August with coverage on Eurosport.
