With the official snooker calendar in close season at the moment some of the game’s top players are doing their bit to enhance snookers worldwide reputation by competing in the 2008 World Series in Berlin.
Evolution’s Shaun Murphy gave a professional performance throughout the tournament to reach the final but lost to Graeme Dott (6-1). Murphy easily defeated German, Patrick Einsle in the quarter finals by four frames to nil and went on to edge a close match with world number 2, Stephen Maguire (5-3). On his way to the final Murphy also claimed the highest break of the tournament (132). The new season is due to start in August 2008 and Murphy will be pleased with his form heading in to the first crucial tournament, the Northern Ireland Trophy. |
