28.04.2008    Latest from Snooker World Championship.

Shaun Murphy fell victim to one of the shocks of the tournament, as he was knocked out by Ali Carter in the second round.

Murphy, the provisional number one, didn’t produce anything like what he is capable of and Carter took full advantage of this. After the first session the score was 6 – 2 in favour of Carter and that set the trend for the rest of the match.

The final scoreline of 13 – 4 must rank as one of the most extraordinary in Crucible history, especially when you consider Murphy’s phenomenal form leading up to the World Championship.

With the season now at a close Evolution’s Murphy has the time to reflect on what has been an incredible season for him, although he will probably be itching to start the next tournament and rediscover his best form.

Evolution have been gripped by Shaun’s fantastic performances throughout this season and are looking forward to the new campaign, which starts in August 2008.
