The big one is upon us…it’s time for the 2008 World Snooker Championship in Sheffield.
This is the event that everyone immersed in the game of snooker gets excited about and Evolution Power Tools have reason to be more excited than most. Evolution’s Shaun Murphy will be playing and is currently in the form of his life. The Rotherham snooker ace is one of the bookies favourites and after winning the event in 2005 he knows what it takes to be victorious. Being an adopted Yorkshireman, he touts the Crucible (Sheffield) as one of his favourite venues and his record there over recent years certainly backs this statement up. Shaun claimed the prestigious trophy on his debut and has come close to winning it again since, losing a nail-biter to Matthew Stevens in the 2007 semi final. Throughout this season Shaun has being playing at a consistently high standard with regular semi final and final appearances in ranking events. His reward for such fantastic form has been a place at the very top of the provisional world ranking. With this being the final tournament of the season everyone at Evolution will be hoping Shaun gets the win he deserves. Shaun Murphy kicks off his campaign with a match against Dave Harold in the first round on Tuesday 22nd April.
