08.12.07    World Snooker Update: Latest from the 2007 UK Championship.

Evolution sponsored Shaun Murphy sealed a passage in to the second round of the 2007 UK Championship with victory over Welshman Paul Davies.

Murphy, 25, eventually won 9 – 5 (frames) against the stubborn Davies who battled all the way to stay in the match. After the first session the players were evenly matched at 4 – 4, but Murphy’s class shone through in the end.

The turning point in the match probably came in the 13th frame, with the match poised at 7 – 5, Davies got an unlucky kick on a red, handing Murphy the chance to win the frame, which he ruthlessly took.

Shaun’s next opponent is fellow Englishman, Stuart Bingham, who defeated the legendary Steve Davis in round one.

Evolution wish Shaun the very best of luck with his second round match.
